How to... Add new themes on "Plank" dock!


As promised in the latest post, we show
how to add new themes for "Plank" dock.


We launched two new themes for "Plank" , and most of the feedback that we have, was that not every one knows how to add this themes to use on the dock. So we are going to show how can you add ours or other's themes to "Plank", and as you will notice, is quite simple and easy to do it.

Plank dock... How to add new themes -:- 1 minute tutorial

This will only take a few step's to make it possible...
  • Step 1
    Open your file manager on root mode
    • On eOS, if you have alredy "Files" on the dock, you only need to click with the right button of the mouse, and select "New Window As Administrator"
    • In others OS just open the terminal and write sudo by following the name of system file manager.
      For example, if your system have "Thunar" as the main file manager, just write:
$ sudo thunar
Open the file manager in root mode

  • Step 2
    Go to the "Plank" themes directoryJust follow this path, as in the image bellow.
/ usr / share / plank / themes /

Open the "Plank" theme directory

  • Step 3
    Open the file manager ( this time in user mode ), in the directory that you save your "Plank" themes

Open the directory that you store the "Plank" themes

  • Step 4
    • Copy and paste, the the selected themes from the user mode file manager to the root file manager
