Gnome-Pie... How to install on Ubuntu based systems

A new version of Gnome-Pie has been released, 0.6.2!

Actually three versions have been released: 0.6.0 and shortly afterwards 0.6.1, and now 0.6.2 which fixes issue #73. There are plenty of bug fixes and many new features!.

Gnome-Pie is designed to be fun, fast and visually appealing. It is implemented according to Fitts' law, which is used to model the act of pointing.

Gnome-Pie is not in the official repositories of Ubuntu, but the developer of this application has created a PPA repository from which it's very easy to install.

How to install on Ubuntu based systems ?
Like: Ubuntu, Kubuntu, ubuntu-Gnome, Xubuntu, Lubuntu, Linux-Mint. elemntaryOS, LinuxLite, etc...
both 32-bit and 64-bit
  • 1st Step ( copy and paste the follow command line, into the terminal )
    • sudo add-apt-repository ppa:simonschneegans/testing


  • 2nd Step ( copy and paste the follow command line, into the terminal ) 
    • sudo apt-get update


  • 3rd Step ( copy and paste the follow command line, into the terminal )
    • sudo apt-get install gnome-pie
