Synapse, the app launcher... How to install on Ubuntu, and Arch based systems

This is a small tutorial, showing how to install this application on systems based on Ubuntu, and
Arch.



Synapse is a launcher, that you can use to start applications. With this app, you can also find and access documents and files.



This app recently reached the version of 0.2.99, and  it's available for both 32-bit and 64-bit core processors. Can be easily installed via the new stable PPA for Ubuntu based systems, but it's also available for Arch based systems.

If you encounter bugs, report them @ Launchpad.

How to install on Ubuntu based systems
Trusty Tahr - 14.04LTS   |   Utopic Unicorn - 14.10   |   Vivid Vervet - 15.04 
Like: Ubuntu, Kubuntu, ubuntu-Gnome, Xubuntu, Lubuntu, Linux-Mint. elemntaryOS, LinuxLite, etc...
both 32-bit and 64-bit


This PPA, contains the latest development of Synapse. Since, this is not the stable release, it's possible to find some bug's.

  • 1st Step
    • Open a terminal, and copy and paste the the follow command line
      • sudo apt-add-repository ppa:synapse-core/testing

  • 2nd Step
    • Copy the second command line, and paste on the terminal
      • sudo apt-get update

  • 3th Step
    • Copy the third command line, and paste on the terminal
      • sudo apt-get install synapse







How to install on Arch based systems
Like: Arch, Antergos, Manjaro, Bridge Linux,  etc...
both 32-bit and 64-bit
  • 1st Way
    • Open a terminal, and copy and paste the the follow command line
      • yaourt -S synapse


    • 2nd Way
      • You can also install Synapse, on a terminal by using Pacman
        • sudo pacman -S synapse

    • 3rd Way
      • You can also install Synapse, by using Pamac or Octopi package manager
        • On the search bar, write synapse


    And, that's it!
    Just launch Synapse, and enjoy it...
